Program & Policy

The Chiefs of Ontario acts on behalf of the 133 First Nations in Ontario as it engages with various levels of government in developing and implementing policy change and program development.  Programs and policies that are currently being developed that the Chiefs of Ontario is tracking include but are not limited to:
  • The Ontario First Nation Health Action Plan
  • Resource Revenue Sharing Agreements
  • Classification of First Nation Schools within the Education Act
  • Aboriginal Institutes Policy
  • Work to Educate Canadians on the Legacy of Residential Schools
